Day 1 : Yangon – Mawlamyine

In the morning breakfast at hotel, after breakfast we drive direct to Mawlamyine .On the way we will visit Thaton .Thaton is about 5 hr drive from Yangon, which served as the first great ancient capital of the Mon Empire, visit Shwezayan Pagoda; believed to contain four of the Buddha’s teeth and see Thagyapaya Pagoda; decorated with various terra-cotta glazed tiles, dating from the 11lh and 12th Cent.Continue your drive towards Mawlamyine, in the heart of the Mon State. Located on the Gulf of Mottama at the mouth of the Thanlwin River, the city, also named as “Moulmein”, was used to be a port city for teak export in British colonial time.Despite the third largest city of the country, this picturesque capital and the largest city of Mon State still retains its quiet charm being surrounded by sleepy fishing villages. Upon arrival, allow some time to explore the town including and be amazed with remnant churches and beautiful colonial style buildings still well-maintained in this tranquil city. Day 2 : Mawlamyine – Excursion to Shampoo Island and Blugyun Island

This morning, start your day with a visit to Gaungsay Kyun or “Shampoo Island” and a morning excursion to local villages and the monastery there. Then continue to set out for your boat journey to Bilu Kyun, which means “Orgre Island” located just opposite to the city of Mawlamyaing to enjoy the beauty of nature and fabulous views of the countryside. Visit the villages around the island which is rich in chemical resources and known for traditional handmade products such as walking sticks, tobacco pipes, slate (board and pencils) and rubber bands. Make a brief stop by a village monastery and a local school en route. Upon return to Mawlamyine, Pa Auk Taw Ya, one of the largest meditation center in the country and.In the afternoon, visit the famous Mahamuni Paya, the largest temple complex in the city built in the ‘Mon Style’. In the afternoon, visit Queen Sein Don Monastery, a 100-year old wooden structure, originally the residence of King Mindon’s queen. Take a short drive to the View Point Pagoda and Kyaikthanan Paya, a spectacular hillside temple. Day 3 : Mawlamyine – Visit to Kyaikkhami Setse Beach and Thanbyuzayat

After breakfast at hotel, start your day with a visit to Mawlamyine’s central market “Zaygyi”, the morning market where a vast array of produce and goods is being bought and sold. Then continue your drive further down the coast to Kyaikkhami town to visit the metal-roofed Kyaikkhami Yale pagoda perched over the sea, joining the complex and the land by a long causeway. Extend your trip to the very wide Setsè Beach with brown sand. Proceed to Thanbyuzayat that is 34km from Mawlamyine to visit an Allied War Memorial Cemetery which commemorates the prisoners of war who lost their lives in constructing the famous “Death Railway across the River Kwai”. Day 4 : Mawlamyine – Hpa An

Breakfast at the hotel, enjoy a scenic drive heading for the less explored Kayin State and its sleepy capital of Hpa An, the capital of Kayin State, surrounded by limestone cliffs, wide lakes and mountain ranges. During the journey, you’ll stop at the Buddha-filled cave of Kha Yon and visit to Lumbini Garden with thousands of Buddha images at the base of Mt. Zwekabin. A brief photo-stop at Kyauk Kalat, a pagoda which is built on layers of natural rock formations.After that we visit to the shallow Kaw-goon and Pha-gat Cave Pagodas, an invaluable cultural heritage questionably dating back to 7-AD and End the day with a short visit to Shwe-Yin-Myaw pagoda where you enjoy an overlooking view of sunset the famous Thanlwin River at sunset. Day 5 : Hpa An -Yangon

After breakfast, drive to Yangon (305 km – 8 hours). Stop en route for a visit at the interesting Ba-yin-yi caves with beautiful wall carvings and numerous intricate Buddha images sculpted in allsizes. Arrive in Yangon in the late evening. ( Overnight hotel in Yangon . )
