Day 4 : Mt. Popa – Salay
Your trip will start at your hotel in Bagan, drive to Mount Popa, an extinct volcano and 60-km south-east of Bagan and 1500-meters high. Well known as the oasis of the central Myanmardry zone and with a shrine dedicated to animist spirits known as “Nats”.

Forthe energetic, time to climb 777 steps to a shrine at the top of the volcanicplug accompanied by a crowd of monkeys. This effort will be rewarded many times by the extraordinary panoramic view of the surrounding landscape.

Popa National Park with dense sandal wood forest and rare species of birds and butterflies,Local market are worth to see.
Continue drive to Salay once a religious centerlocated about fifteen miles (20 kilometres) south of Bagan on the bank of the Ayeyarwaddy river.

Visit one of the oldest monasteries famous for its finest wood carvings, a huge lacquered Buddha made of bamboo strips and some small temples with interesting mural paintings dating from Bagan area.
