Details Itinerary

Day 1 : Arrive in Yangon - Mandalay

Arrive in Mandalay International airport, meet and welcome by your guide then transfer hotel. Overnight stay at hotel in Mandalay.  

Day 2 : River Cruise Mingun – Mandalay

After breakfast, boat excursion (one hour each way) up the Ayeyarwaddy river to Mingun, site of the world’s largest intact bronze bell, 3.7 meters high and weighting 87 tons. Also visit the huge but unfinished Mingun paya (built with the intention of being the world’s biggest pagoda) and the beautiful Hsinbyume paya, Settawya Pagoda, Myatheindan Pagoda with seven concentric terraces at the base. After that, proceed sightseeing to the former royal capital of Inwa (Ava), reached by a short boat trip. Visits by horse-drawn carriage include Nanmyint Watch Tower, the remains of a palace building nicknamed “leaning tower of Ava”, Mahaaungmye Bonzan Monastery (built of bricks and stucco) and Bargayar Monastery, famous for its impressive ornate woodcarvings and teak posts.Then transfer to the hotel in Mandalay. After lunch, sightseeing includes Mahamuni Buddha Image with its spectacular Buddha image covered with thick layer of gold leaves, Shwe Nan Daw Kyaung ( Golden Palace Monastery), a superb example of a traditional wooden building, and Kuthodaw Pagoda (known as the world’s largest book), consisting of 729 marble slabs engraved with Buddhist scriptures. Day 3 : Amurapura – Sagaing – Inwa (Ava)

After breakfast, transfer to Amurapura for sightseeing. Visit Mahagandayon Monastery, a famous Buddhist monastery where more than a thousand monks live and study Buddhist literature. Then,drive to Sagaing Hills over Ava Bridge across the Ayeyarwaddy River. Sagaing, once an ancient capital, lies 21 km south west of Mandalay, besides the Ayeyarwaddy River. Sagaing Hills are dotted with pagodas and there are over 500 monasteries and meditation centers, a retreat for 6000 monks and nuns. Visit Soon U Ponya Shin Pagoda, U Min Thonese Pagoda. And then drive back to Mandalay. On the way back to Mandalay enjoy the beautiful sunset at 1.2 km-long U Bein Wooden Bridge built in 1782 at the time when Amarapura was the royal capital.then transfer to Hotel . Day 4 : Mandalay – Bagan

After early morning breakfast, transfer to Jetty around 6 0' clock in the morning.Upon arrival at Bagan in the evening, transfer to Hotel. Overnight stay at hotel in Bagan.

Day 5 : Bagan Full Day Sightseeing

In the morning after breakfast we start visit with Shwezigone Pagoda- built in 1087 by King Anawratha who is the founder of the first Myanmar Empire.Nat ( Sprits ) images can be found within its precincts. Then observe the most venerated Ananda temple, built in 1090. It is the masterpiece of the early style temple architecture of Bagan error. Next must stop see is 66 meters high Thatbyitnnyu temple built in the middle of the 12th century as the highest pagoda on Bagan Plain. Then study 12th century mural painting inside the Gubyaukgyi temple, built in 1113 by princess Rajakumar. After that, visit a local family workshop to watch about the production process of lacquer ware, one of Myanmar’s best-known handicrafts. Evening highlights are Manuhar pagoda – built by king Manuhar, probably to portray his life as a POW ( Prisoner Of War ); unfinished Dhamagyi temple – Bagan’s most massive temple built in 1167 AD. Finally, breathtaking sunset from Shwesandaw Pagoda – most popular sunset-viewing spots in Bagan. ( Overnight hotel in Bagan. )

Day 6 : Bagan full day sightseeing

Highlight for today: Lawkhananda Pagoda – look over Ayeyarwaddy river from Bu Paya-pagoda with bulbous dome resembling the ‘ Bu’ or gourd; Dhama Yazaka Zedi – located in Pwasaw village & built in 1196 AD; Nagayon pagoda – a very elegant form with a standing stucco image of Buddha under the hood of a huge naga ( serpent ); Kyansit-tha Umin- where you can see murals painting from the 13th century; Ananda Okkyaung-a brick monastery with 18th century mural paintings; Nathlaung Kyaung – the only remaining Hindu temple in Bagan; Than day Kyar – Buddha Image built with solid sand stones in 13th century; Sulamani Temple – a red brick temple features delicate masonry work; Lawka Teikpan pagoda – quick small in size is of considerable importance owing to fine frescoes and ink inscriptions dated 12 century; Htilominlo Temple – known for its elaborate plaster moldings dated 1211 AD; Nan Paya – ne of the two sand stone temples in Bagan. Finally, breathtaking sunset from Pyat Thet Gyi temple. ( Overnight hotel in Bagan. )

Day 7 : Excursion Mt.Popa – Salay – Yangon

After breakfast, visit Mt.Popa, an extinct volcano and 60-km south-east of Bagan and 1500-meters high. Well known as the oasis of the central Myanmar dry zone and with a shrine dedicated to animist spirits known as “Nats”. For the energetic, time to climb 777 steps to a shrine at the top of the volcanic plug accompanied by a crowd of monkeys. This effort will be rewarded many times by the extraordinary panoramic view of the surrounding landscape. Popa National Park with dense sandal wood forest and rare species of birds and butterflies, Local market are worth to see. Continue drive to Salay once a religious center located about fifteen miles (20 kilometres) south of Bagan on the bank of the Ayeyarwaddy river.Visit one of the oldest monasteries famous for its finest wood carvings, a huge lacquered Buddha made of bamboo strips and some small temples with interesting mural paintings dating from Bagan area. Then drive back to Bagan. After dinner transfer to high way Bus station to go back Yangon. Overnight Bus to Yangon (Air con Bus) . Overnight in Bus.

Day 8 : Arrival in Yangon sightseeing & Departure

Arrive to Yangon Bus station, meet and welcome by your guide then transfer to Hotel for relax . After relax in the hotel we go for sightseeing to the downtown area , we visit over 2000-years old Sule pagoda and enjoy photographing for a panoramic view of city. Proceed to Mahabandoola Park with Independent Monument ~ have a memorable scene of colonial building ,enjoy lunch at Restaurant. After lunch, visit to Bogyoke Aung San (Scott) Market for shopping and then we proceed to the biggest Chaukhtetgyi reclining Buddha statue-72 meters long huge colossal image.Kandawgyi Lake for photo taking at Shwedagon Pagoda, over 2500-years-old gigantic golden stupa in Yangon. It is the holiest place of the Buddhist people and land mark of the country then transfer Yangon International airport .
